Test-Female Hormones 101
Estrogen
When estrogen is out of balance it causes night sweats, hot flashes, vaginal dryness, anxiety, and depression. Many women don't know that these symptoms are not always caused by a deficiency, but rather by fluctuating levels of estrogen. Our therapy helps maintain this balance to drastically decrease and in most cases eliminate these symptoms.
Testosterone
Often considered to be the most important in men, testosterone also plays an important role in a woman's balance. After the age of thirty, testosterone production decreases gradually and symptoms such as loss of libido, weight gain, mental fogginess, and loss of energy can occur. In women who have had a hysterectomy, testosterone levels drop by one-half almost immediately after the surgery.
Progesterone
Progesterone deficiency can cause difficulty sleeping, hair loss, water retention, and depression. This hormone is commonly prescribed along with estrogen to protect the uterus.
